Environment Network Unite in Aviva - Earth Day - 22 April 2025 Part 1

Part 1 – Background
Every year on the 22nd of April, Earth Day marks the anniversary of the start of the modern environmental movement that started in 1970.
Over the last 55 years, groups of like-minded people have come together to join forces from all over the world. They aim to spread knowledge and push for better regulations and laws to protect our planet. They are trying to reverse the damage that has been done in the last 150 years of industrial revolution.
Global heating is bringing Earth’s climate system toward dangerous tipping points, with devastating consequences for ecosystems and people. It is vital that we all take some action whether big or small. Taking part during Earth Day / Month means that you will be taking part in the largest and most inclusive environmental movement in the world.
Since the setup of Earth Day in 1970 the movement has reached over 180 countries despite COVID limitations, it has received interest and involvement from over 10 billion readers/ viewers and listeners globally. EarthDay.org was one of the first organisation to build relationships with African American and Latino Faith groups around environmental activism.
Following from the success and the 50th Anniversary of Earth Day My Future My Voice campaign was launched bringing focus on young environmental leaders across the world. The aim of this movement to protect biodiversity, increase and protect green areas, manage waste and to work to reach Net-Zero. There are now over 50 Youth Ambassadors from over 50 countries representing this movement and the numbers are growing.
We are launching our annual survey on 14 April 2025 to gather feedback from our members on our activities. They will also vote on how we will allocate an agreed pot of funding towards various environmental projects.
