Hello everyone!

We have an exciting update for you all following on from our Christmas Wrap up comms, some of you may remember we donated to the Woodland Trust’s save Harrison Woodlands project.

We have received an update from the Regional Development Officer at The Woodland Trust, Katy has confirmed the following;

“I’m pleased to be able to tell you that we completed on the sale of Harrison Woodlands at the end of January.  We weren’t quite there with our fundraising, but we were so keen to bring the site into our management, we decided to pull from our reserves and keep fundraising retrospectively for it. The hard work now begins to start the management plans and restoration of the site.  We will be working hard to ensure it is safe and hope to open it back up to the public soon.”

The restoration of this woodland is an incredible feat and something we should all be incredibly proud of as a membership. Helping to restore this greenspace for generations to come is very important work and adds to our legacy of tackling climate change and regenerating the environment. We are hopeful to support more projects like this across the year.
