Also known as ‘Men’s Health Awareness Month’, November promotes an annual global campaign that encourages Men to grow moustaches and participate in various activities to raise awareness about men’s health issues, which include mental health, suicide prevention, therapy, and prostate cancer awareness.

The site of the UK’s leading charity on the subject, Movember - Changing the face of men's health - Movember, provides a platform for men to discuss their health openly, seek support, and take proactive steps towards a healthier and happier life. It actually originated in Australia in 2003, where a group of friends decided to grow moustaches to raise awareness about prostate cancer and depression in men, and it has since evolved into a global movement with millions of participants and supporters.

 

The initiative has funded numerous men’s health projects and initiative and has since become a symbol of solidarity and awareness. It has even contributed to significant advancements in men’s health research and has encouraged men to take more charge and stock in their own well-being. It’s not just for men either, as in recent years their sister organisation ‘Mo Sisters’ have taken part in the initiative, as women who have lost brothers, husbands, fathers, and other important male role models to suicide or cancer.
