When you take part during Earth Day (or month) and chose to donate or get involved with the activities available, you will in turn support various vital work, one of them is the Canopy Project that helps to restore and recreate lost forests all over the World.

Since the beginning of the 20th century, the world’s forests have lost about 20% of their coverage (18 million acres of forest are lost every year) and sadly it is estimated that half of Earth’s tropical forests have already been cleared.

​

The Canopy Project works with partners to reforest areas in dire need of rehabilitation, including areas with some of the world’s communities most at-risk from climate change and environmental degradation.

Since 2010, EARTHDAY.ORG™ has planted tens of millions of trees with The Canopy Project. With your help and involvement (by organising your own Earth Day activities) this crucial work can continue and strengthen communities worldwide. Don’t forget to check out the important work Unite In Aviva (through your monthly membership) has done over the years and the many different projects and charity work we have donated towards. We have so far funded 4523 trees along with 312 tons of CO2 emission avoided, 2 tonnes of Co2 emission removed and 127 square meter habitat restored.

Our Environment network aims to collaborate with Unite Environmental Reps in other Insurance and Financial Services organisations to improve sustainability practices across the sector. We aim to use our Network's funds to support effective Sustainability Initiatives with accredited charity and NGO partners.
